The client is a research-based university in Morocco, a leader in its field. The university is renowned for its efforts in advancing sustainable development and digital innovation across Africa. The university wanted to revamp its SAP environment as a part of its 'Cloud First' strategy, but they faced an obstacle: Morocco's data protection laws require that all of the university's data must be stored physically within Morocco's borders. The university needed a cloud solution that complied with these strict national regulations.
There was no hyperscaler presence in Morocco to speak of, which meant that the university couldn't just use AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Apart from this, there was also mounting pressure to retain the data domestically. The university also faced roadblocks in modernizing its core systems. They had a legacy SAP landscape, and were no longer scalable enough and lacked automation. This hampered its mission - to continuously be able to support advanced research and remain an academically agile institution.
Cloud4C built and delivered a sovereign cloud foundation that could be hosted within Morocco's borders. This enabled the institution to adopt RISE with SAP without compromising on compliance or control. This transformative first step set the foundation for the university to build a scalable, regulation-aligned digital future while supporting its 'Cloud First' vision.
