The client is a leading state-owned power distribution utility in India, responsible for electricity distribution and hydro generation across a key state in the country. The organization also serves as the nodal agency for rural electrification initiatives across the state.
Supporting a vast public utility ecosystem, the organization operates across 132 accounting units and serves over 2.4 crore consumers through its SAP IS-U environment. Its SAP landscape also supports thousands of transactional, ESS-MSS, payroll, and professional application users across critical business, workforce, billing, and customer service functions.
The utility was running a large SAP ECC 6.0 and DB2-based landscape on legacy on-premises infrastructure across its own data center and DR location, creating significant operational overheads for mission-critical utility processes at state wide scale. Its SAP ecosystem included ERP, IS-U, BI/BW, Enterprise Portal, Process Orchestration, Solution Manager, GIS, CRM, MDAS, CA Helpdesk, and standalone SAP-integrated portals. With large data volumes, including a 24 TB standalone HANA database, custom modules, and extensive integrations, the organization needed a secure, scalable, and resilient SAP foundation to reduce infrastructure burden, support continuity, and strengthen citizen-facing utility services.
Cloud4C enabled the customer’s RISE with SAP transformation by providing the cloud infrastructure foundation for its modern SAP environment. Cloud4C created a landing zone to support seamless network connectivity into the RISE landscape and supported the customer and migration partner during the ECC-to-S/4HANA conversion phase. The solution helped host and manage the customer’s large-scale 24 TB standalone HANA database on cloud, while enabling ongoing managed services for the RISE environment. Cloud4C also strengthened cybersecurity controls, DR readiness, uptime governance, and business continuity support for mission-critical SAP ERP and SAP IS-U operations.
